Reporting to the Chair of Internal Medicine, the Chief, Medical Genetic Division will provide leadership in developing and leading the medical genetics research function for Hamad Medical Corporation. This physician scientist will be expected to establish independent and collaborative research programs and lead medical genetics, which will be developed as a Division within the Department of Internal Medicine.
The Medical Genetics program will be built from the ground up operationally. HMC has proteinic and genomic sequencing capabilities, which were previously housed in the Department of Pediatrics. The Chief will work in cooperation with the Chair of Medicine to develop the budget. The role provides robust opportunities to advance the medical genetics knowledge about the defined Qatar population with ample resources and support available.
